The ebook edition of Zombocalypse Now is available for download in Amazon’s Kindle store. So if you got a brand new Kindle for Christmas, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO. And if you don’t have a Kindle, go buy one. (Or, you know, just pick up the standard Zombocalypse Now dead tree edition instead).
Assuming $259 is a little more than you’d care to spend ($219 for a refurb!) to jump into the much-ballyhooed future of publishing and whatever, you can also download the free Kindle software for your PC or iPhone, and start reading ebooks right now on hardware that you already have. A lot of the books are cheap or free (not ZN, although at $9.99 it’s fully 33% more affordable than the paperback) so if you’re curious about the whole Kindle situation, it’s a nice way to check it out (any books you buy are linked to your account, so will be readable on your computer, your phone, and any theoretical Kindle you might decide to purchase down the road).
For those of you who own Sony E-readers or Barnes & Noble Nooks, we’re hoping to have a standard epub edition available soon. (The different formats handle html links very differently, and since the choose-your-own-path format basically turns the whole book into an elaborate network of links, there’s a crazy amount of work to do. But we’ll get there!).

Can’t wait for the Nook version, just got one as a gift so I just can’t see getting another reader, but I’m crazy interested in this book.

on March 4th, 2010So far the epub format had proven a little trickier than Kindle’s mobi thang, but we’re making progress. Hopefully we’ll have an announcement soon!

on March 6th, 2010As much as I love this concept, I can’t see buying a Kindle format – the only kind you can’t use on multiple devices. I’m absolutely watching for the epub, though! Can’t wait for it…

on March 15th, 2010It is much simpler now and relocating the prev-next buttons to both sides is convenient for both left- and right-handed readers The 3G is absolutely worth the price. I don’t see support for library books. That’s the feature everyone wants. Looks like they are being shady not allowing EPub.

on September 2nd, 2010I’m still not sold on these e-readers. The best books are real books. You see I love to read real books but the price of an e-book, I would choose the Kindle 3g, is too tough to resist. Don’t you get glare with LCD screens? Went to get a Kindle yesterday but unfortunately had none in stock. Thanks for showing us these issues.
