My old friend Matt Driscoll has filed a lengthy post over at the Weekly Volcano’s “Spew” blog about the Homegrown Heroes signing at Comic Book Ink this weekend. For a bit of background, I actually gave Matt his first writing gig at the Tacoma Reporter years ago (and, if memory serves, willfully ignored the fact that at the time he needed a fake I.D. to get into bars and cover rock shows for us).
Anyone familiar with Driscoll’s work will know that the article is about four paragraphs about his personal life followed by maybe ten words on the event he’s theoretically covering (he was the same way back when he wrote for me — kids these days), but for a thrilling tale of friendship, betrayal and redemption, check out the post. It’s all true, except for the part where I was ever mad at him. And don’t forget to stop by and get a book signed at Comic Book Ink in Tacoma tomorrow from 2-5!
